Late Night Drive

Last week I had one of my coolest photo sessions to date. I met up with my cousin Ben, and his band "Late Night Drive." They wanted some fun band shots so we headed downtown. Much to my excitement, we ended our shoot on the heli-pad at the JW Marriott...it doesn't get cooler than that. I had so much fun doing these photos, you guys were awesome! Late Night Drive will be playing at the coast guard festival on August 1st. check them out!

Well these photos are a little delayed, due to my computer breaking, but never fear, I am back in business now :) These photos are from Michael's (my brother in law) 21st birthday. Michael plays in a local Funk band called, "Righteous." (if you follow this blog at all you know I am a big fan haha). This particular evening righteous was playing at the black rose and Michael turned 21 at midnight. I was exhausted after shooting a wedding all day beforehand, but had a ton of fun sharing this special night with Michael! I also managed to capture some fun photos...if I could put them all up I would...but I have a feeling they wouldn't be as interesting to you as they are to me ;)

I'm a big fan.

On Saturday I headed downtown to hang out at festival and watch my favorite local band play! My brother in law is the guitarist for "Righteous" a local funk band. If you know me well, you know that I am one of their biggest fans. I love watching these guys play and am so excited for them to open for Third Eye Blind and Matt Nathanson at the Muskegon Summer Celebration on July 4 (that may have been a shameless plug for their show...) I brought my camera in hopes of getting some candid shots of the guys. I had to battle low light, a little drizzle, and a man walking back and forth in front of me, oh, and when I decided to try to get some practice with my flash...it wouldn't fire. Nevertheless, I got some decent shots. I antiqued them, because well, that makes them classy ;)

I am finally getting around to putting some of the new stuff up! I did a shoot about a week ago for a band called One Against. I haven't photographed many bands but it was a lot of fun and something I wouldn't mind doing more of. The boys had a blast and were cracking me up the whole time.
